A winter visit to the Struck Country Hotel isn’t complete without a snowshoe hike along frosty shoreline paths and through untouched forests. How about a panoramic hike with views of the snow-covered lake landscape, a winter walk through our idyllic Repetal, or even a winter picnic? Along the way, you can spot birds on the lake’s edge or track wildlife in the snow.
Yes, you can also enjoy winter sports in the Sauerland. Several ski areas and even more sledding hills invite you to have fun in the snow. Just 10 km from the Olpe motorway junction (A4/A45) lies the Olpe-Fahlenscheid ski area with slopes for beginners and advanced skiers, illuminated in the evening! Little ski stars will love the dedicated children's area with a conveyor belt. Ski rentals are available directly at the slopes for a hassle-free start.
The Sauerland region starts to sparkle and glitter as soon as the temperatures drop. It’s a wonderful spot for winter hikes, romantic excursions to the numerous castles and ruins or a visit to one of the traditional Christmas markets. And the region boasts the ‘greatest winter sports fun north of the Alps’ for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.
Quite apart from its countryside, the Sauerland region catches the eye with its traditional culture and customs. Visit historic small settlements such as the winding old town of Attendorn, stroll through regional markets, explore castles and caves and celebrate carnival, which starts here at 11:11 on 11/11.
A relaxing holiday like in a fairy tale: the scent of the forest, the sweeping views over silver streaks of mist hugging gentle slopes and crystal-clear lakes make you stop and fill your lungs with fresh air. The hotel’s own wellness area contributes to this sense of winding down.
Situated on approx. 95 hectares and boasting an 18-hole course, the Repetal Südsauerland e. V. golf club is just a short stroll from the hotel or can be reached by car in only 2 minutes. Enjoy a round of golf between the banks of Lake Biggesee and Attendorn.
The Sauerland region is known as a great place for excellent hiking. Three long-distance hiking trails take endurance hikers right across the country, while numerous themed and one-day routes are the perfect choice for more leisurely amblers. The country hotel is situated right at the entrance the idyllic Repetal valley, which is a great place to explore on a circuit that departs directly from the hotel. Some of the most beautiful hiking routes circle Lake Biggesee as well, also in the immediate vicinity.
Whether it’s altitude training or a lazy circuit past rivers and lakes: cyclists will definitely have plenty of at the Bike Arena Sauerland. Mountain and gravel bikers, racing cyclists as well as their more leisurely compatriots will find the topography of the region truly inspiring as they travel along a well-signposted network of routes.
The Struck Landhotel & SPA is not far from the Biggesee-Listersee nature adventure area and is the perfect starting point for stand-up paddling, surfing, sailing, diving, kayaking and much more.
